In Calc there is still a problem with applying the same font for the whole
spreadsheet. Ctrl+A and picking a font does not work for every cell.Thanks!

not a bug but a feature called Edit cells.
Also a double to Issue 53545
And a better way to apply a special font to all cells is to use styles, in this
case the default style.
Hit F11
select default and open context menu
choose modify and set your values. 
Click Ok and you're done
