Description robster 2008-11-04 16:23:07 UTC
It would make it much easier for users if the download page had more specific
detection of operating systems.

I use Ubuntu and what I expected was for the site to automatically detect that
fact and direct me to a Debian package that installs OpenOffice. Having
navigated to find the debian package, the resulting download was a zip which
contained a large number of .deb files which I had no idea what to do with.
Please make things easier for Linux newbies.

then it is better you use the version coming with your distribution

or learn how dpkg works

you have to unpack the *.zip and execute dpkg -i *.deb in the unpacked direktory.

As this is a support problem I set the issue to invalid
