Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 95981
WW8: list in RTL table imported with wrong indents
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:43:11 UTC
Hi I inserted a table in my document with 2 columns. I added numbers in first column with Numbering function (This function is on toolbar) and everything was good and I saved my document. But when I reopened saved document for more editing I saw there was no number in first column.! Of course I think numbers are there but aren't seen. For better description I attached my sample document in this issue. Please look at. It's a RTL document. I checked this issue in a LTR document that doesn't have this problem. Thanks.
Created attachment 57779 [details] Sample For Issuse
I use openoffice.org 3.0
SBA-> falatooni: This is not a Prio P1 issue. Please see http://qa.openoffice.org/scdocs/ddIssues_EnterModify.html#priority Thank you. In the document, the numbering style got imported from a Word document. (NumberingStyle is "WW8Num1" . But the problem is in the paragraph formatting. When switching on the display of nonprinting characters, a paragraph mark and a tab can be seen. Since cursor travelling to the right (out of the table cell border) ispossible, it is clear what the problem is: There is a (hard-set) negative indent in the paragraphs where the right-aligned numbering is. So the numbers are "out of the table area" and thus invisible. To solve this, re-set the negative indent: - Select the cells with the numberings - Format - Paragraph -> Tab "Indent & Spacing" - [See that the First line indent is set to -0.25 inch] - Set the "First line indent" to "0" - Click OK -> Now the numberings are within the cell and visible. All works as designed. Marking issue as "invalid".
Closing issue.
Thanks as you said "the problem is in the paragraph formatting" The problem that you said isn't in openoffice.org 2.4 series. Do you let me to report this problem as a new issue with "Wrong Formatting Paragraph" summary? anybody reported this problem previously? Thanks again.
Falatooni->SBA: My be answer? Thanks
@SBA: There is not this issue in OOo 2.4.2 without needing to any settings. There is this issue only in OOo 3.x Do you let me to reopen this issue again? Thanks
SBA: Reopening this one in order to have a second look. Set target from 3.1 to 3.x. SBA->MRU: As discussed, let us see if this is a "true regression" of some kind or another issue that unfolded "because others got fixed".
At first glance, I cannot see a regression here... the document looks exactly the same in OO 2.4.1 and 3.x. Or did I miss anything?
Created attachment 60496 [details] I attached another sample. This sample is in DOC file format. Please have a look. Thanks.
Reassigned.
It seems that there is this issue only in DOC file format. Please use and base my second attachment for your review. Thanks
I think this issue is similar with issue 95982 and have same root. Thanks
*** Issue 95982 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. ***
MRU->OD: please see the attached document; the list in the right column of the document is imported with wrong indents. Thus it seems are not available. The document is in RTL context.
Do you let me to set this issue as release blocker of OOo 3.1? Thanks
OD->MRU: Please check attached document "Numbers.doc" in internal installation set of cws hb20. It looks good in this cws.
Yes, it looks that this is fixed by issue 99822.
closed, will be fixed in OOo 3.1.
