In DataPilot choose "Average" as a function for your data field. What you get
is: "Mean". See screenshot!

Suggestion: Use "Average" konsistently, since this is used everywhere else.

For example Calc Function: =AVERAGE(...)
For example Calc Statusbar: "Average"
For example Base Function: Average
