Description kmorris99 2008-11-20 02:03:15 UTC
According to the MAC human interface guidelines, http://developer.apple.com/documentation/UserExperience/Conceptual/AppleHIGuidelines/XHIGWindows
/chapter_18_section_4.html (search for Proxy Icon), when a document is saved a "proxy icon" may appear
next to its filename in the window title bar. The file can be dragged to other applications (eg, Mail) by
selecting and dragging the icon (NeoOffice supports this, for example).

The RFE requests that functionality be added to staroffice / openoffice for all document types.

There is work in progress. Please have a look at : http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Mac_OS_X_Porting_-_Proxy_Icon_implementation

I hate when people who show the bad NeoOffice example : yet another time, NeoOffice does not share
with OpenOffice.org. Is this what you wanted to show ?

Reassigning to me.

Hi Eric, Glad to see the work has already commenced - I didn't find it when I searched the issue list. The
comparison with N**Office is not intended to be negative - Preview also uses proxy icons, and that's
where I first saw them. Keep up the good work - and thanks for accepting the RFE.
