Description mafiaspidey 2008-12-13 07:46:39 UTC
Hi,

It would be great if during a) installation or b) first start-up of open office
suite/program it asked the user to choose what 3rd party extensions to install
from a list pulled from online at the time via internet connection. Let the user
browse/search extensions right then and there in the installation or the first
start up instead of having to go to the extensions website...

This is such a Great and high-priority feature I would like because First, it
would make the user aware of available templates right away from their first
use. SECONDLY, and <more importantly>, it makes LIFE much easier for the user.

I hope this gets implemented as soon as possible.

I don't like the behavior to raise any browser at startup without any user
interaction.
What we should think of is to place some links to the recommended pages e.g. the
extension repository to the installer UI.
Maybe we can also place another roadmap step to the Startup Wizard.

To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on
my owner to the owner "requirements".
