it would be great to have the macro recorder function work in the Impress 
application as well (actualli is available in Writer and Calc only). 
it would make things a lot easier.

Draw also lacks macro recorder (see issue http://www.openoffice.org/issues/
show_bug.cgi?id=89609 ) however i think this feature would be much useful to be 
implemented in Impress first.

The macro recorder that we unfortunately added to OOo was built on some very old
code of StarOffice in the pre-OOo area. By just polishing it a bit it was
possible to get a somewhat usable recorder with a few weeks or work. The
corresponding code in Impress never existed, so we had to implement it from
scratch. This is a feature that we don't see so important that the effort to
implement it now is justified, given the fact that there are a lot of more
important things in Impress to implement.

i see. thank you for answers. i thought the same macro recorder that works in 
Writer and Calc could work on Impress as well. i was probably wrong.

I found that some macros recorded with Calc macro recorder may work with 
Impress as well.

It is a kind of workaround, you record the macro in Calc then you use it in 
Impress.
