Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 97572
Crash when edit an editable "Index/Table" item after select the whole text
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:44:00 UTC
[Steps] 1. Create a Write doc. 2. Type in some words, and set a sytle to these words. E.g. Press "F11" to open "Style and Formating" Dialogbox, use "Heading 1". 3. Put the cursor at the end of these words, "Insert -> Indexes and Tables -> Indexes and Tables...", unselect the "Protected against manual changes" check-box and left-click OK button on the pop-up "Edit Index/Table" dialogbox. 4. Press "Ctrl + A" in keyboard, right-click -> "Edit Index/Table", then left-click OK button on the pop-up "Edit Index/Table" dialogbox. [Result] Crash and quit [Expectation] Run normally
Confirming with m37 on WinXP - as described.

I cannot reproduce it in OOOm13. Following your description I have: <some text as Heading1> <a Table of Contents> When I the press Ctrl+A, the selection goes from top of document until empty paragraph after the TOC. Then I don't get "Edit index" in the context menu.
You need to right-click TOC to get "Edit Index/Table" in context.
MRU->OS: as described, insert a Heading paragraph, insert a TOC, select whole text, context menu -> "Edit index", click OK -> crash
Fixed in cws os127 in sw/source/ui/index/toxmgr.cxx
Reassigned for verification
Verified in CWS os127.
Verified in OOo-dev 3.2.0 DEV300m44 (PC, Windows XP). No crash.
Closing as per Nadejda. Nadejda, thanks!
