Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 97695
character "arabic end of ayah" not joined with digits
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:44:35 UTC
The arabic unicode character U+06DD "arabic end of ayah" cannot be joined with digits in OpenOffice. Normally this character is joined with up to 3 digits, wich are placed inside this character. In the attachment you can see an example of a correct junction (in the two red circles the digits are placed in the "arabic end of ayah" character). This feature must be work with hindi and arabic digits and should work with all digits. Maybe you can get some additional information with examples here: http://scripts.sil.org/cms/scripts/page.php?site_id=nrsi&item_id=arabicfonts Thank you very much.

ja->hdu: please take a look at this
That's a nice font feature (e.g. of Scheherazade) @fme: the digits and the U+06DD seem to be considered separate portions (even in CWS kashidafix), which needs to be solved first.
.
It's not only a nice feature, I think it's very recommended to have this feature in a proper arabic word processor. :) Are the seperate proportions solved yet and is there maybe an alternative to do this by an extension?
I tested it again in OO 3.1, and the proportions works :) (needs only some correction). The digits are "before" (in LTR behind) the "end of ayah" sign, the numbers must be centered in the "end of ayah" sign (see attachment jpg). The size of the digits must be the same, one or two digits must be have the same size like three digits (see attachment jpg).

My notes are related to Linux and just I testet it under Windows 2003, where the proportions don't work (digits are not smaller as they should be). The other behaviour is the same.
