Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 98044
Regression: No vertical align centered for textbox from default layout
Last modified: 2012-08-31 02:06:32 UTC
If I create a slide with the layout picture and text in version 2.x of OOo, I was able to align the text with bullets vertical centered. This is needed to fit the text (if there are only few entries) to the graphic (i.e on the left side). I explained this in my Howto http://de.openoffice.org/doc/howto_2_0/impress/es_impress2_0.pdf (page 15/16) or the english version: http://documentation.openoffice.org/HOW_TO/impress/fs_impress2_0.pdf (page 14/15). In the last days I tried to update my howto to OOo 3.0 and had to realize that this feature doesn't exist anymore. I discussed it on the IRC with a developer and heard that the feature lives in the code but was disabled (I don't remember correcty if only in the context menu /UI or also in the code.). I think this feature should enabled in OOo3.1 again.
Reproducible. Reassigned. Entry in context menu is missing.

Sorry about the duplicate. Just to be clear, there is no "Text" item in the context menu for layout objects in both 2.x and 3.x. However, there is a "Text" entry in the main menu (under Format) in 2.x. This entry is disabled in 3.x.
Is there a fix/patch for this for 3.1 on WinXP?
Setting target to OOo 3.3.
Changing target.
@cl: I think this is more your area of expertise.
fixed in cws impress212 for OOo 3.4 I did not add a context menu, this was never there and is no regression. It may be a good idea to add it but it is to late for a ui fix. Format->Text menu no works again for title and outline shapes.
verified on XP SP3, redhat 6.1 against Aoo trunk 1376366 suse 11 64-bit against Aoo trunk 1376353 Mac 10.7 against Aoo trunk 1377620 all pass. close this bug
