Description Unknown 2002-12-04 15:28:04 UTC
After working on a new document for a why, either after a save, print preview or on re-opening the
document the text is displayed one or two characters per line. It prints either as is seen or a blank
page. If the document is saved as a MS word format it can be read properly in ms word but neither the
original OOo file or the saved MS word file can be read properly in OOo. If I try to open the OOo file in
Mandrake 9.0 OOo 1.0.1 it fails to open, the icon moves for about 10 seconds then disappears, after
which problems occur with Linux and , for instance, the mandrake documentation stop working
giving me errors. I have to restart the machine to correct (login out then in fails to correct it).

Simon, thank you for using and supporting OOo.

Please attach the file that reproduces this problem. If possible
list step by step instructions on how to create this problem from
scratch.

As PM said: we need a sample document (eventually also a screen shot
of what you see in the print prview), a step by ste description of
what you do and an isolation of the problem (it seems that you 2
different problem: print on Windows, open on Linux.)
Please reassign to me when you can provide this information.

The attached file contains

1. open off with drawing.sxw - Original file created in OOo

2. Word from OOo with drawing.doc - Original file saved as MS-word

3. OOo what I get.jpg - when I open either file I get this
formatting

4. word - what I should have - If I open the .doc file in word I get
the formating that I originally set up in OOo as I intended it to be.

This problem seems to always occur independant of what application
that I create the documnet in OOo has this problem at some stage while
using the program which is unrecoverable as far as I can see. The
only way to recover the file is to save as a MS-word file and view in
MS-word.

HI->ES: You're already involved with this.
Comment 14 eric.savary 2003-10-30 15:38:07 UTC
Ok, what is the problem exactly?
Printing? caa't be printed? Looks different?
OLE? Looks different in Word/OOo? Disappears?
Load the document? in Word? In OOo on Windows or on Linux? Is there a
crash or the file does not open?

I can't reproduce any of those problems...

Looking at the screen shots, it looks as if the import only shows one
letter per line. But this I can't reproduce either.
