Description shannonbowling 2009-02-27 01:53:05 UTC
A very useful feature would be to increase the number of snap points on objects
from 4 to 16. I am trying to create network diagrams and 4 snaps is just not
enough to make it look decent. MS PowerPoint has 8 snap point, however 16 would
be the perfect number.

Reassigned.
@shannonbowling: you know that you can add gluepoints by yourself? Please have a
look at the help searching for gluepoints.

If you ever have tried to set a gluepoint to a corner, you would know, that at
least default gluepoints in the corners are really necessary, see also issue
49316. Default glue points in the middle of a circle or ellipse are desirable too.

WG,

Thanks for letting me know about gluepoints. I tried to use them, but they are
not exactly what I need. They seem difficult to use, also I would need to create
them for each object that I need to snap to, and in this case it is a large
number of objects. I currently use MS point and "get by" with 8 snaps, however
even with 8 the network doesn't look "smooth". I figure 16 would provide enough
resolution around the object to fit pretty much any need. Once again however,
thanks for your comment and I hope this issue can get resolved in the near
future. I have committed myself to using OO because I am sick of being dictated
by MS. I have even set up a website promoting Open Software call opensweet dot org.

Thanks for your reply, interesting to hear from your initiative. One more hint
for you: once you have setup an object fitting your needs with the additional
gluepoints you can store it in the gallery in an own theme to have it available
all the time in all applications. Hope this helps!
