If user add jar file through netbeans in default mode, then everythink looks, that is OK. Of course the jar file is corrupted, because the jar file was not added with -kb. Some warning or notice will be nice in this case. Yes, there is advace option, but recognize binary file is not hard (especially jar file, which is common for java programming).
Lowering priority to P5, since this should be set on the CVS server. There you can set, that *.jar files will be considered as binary. I agree, that it might be nice to check whether the file is binary or not, however it's not possible to make a general test, that will work in all cases and it will cause an additional overhead, which is not necessary when the repository is properly setup. Moreover this feature can not be easily added to the current implementation, therefore it might be never implemented.
