Description _ krystyna 2008-01-08 23:43:34 UTC
New userdir for 6.0.1 needed
-------------------------------

(Installer build) NetBeans IDE 6.0 (Build 200801071200)
Java: 1.6.0_04; Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 10.0-b19
System: Windows XP version 5.1 running on x86; Cp1252; en_US (nb)

Seems in the past, 5.5, 5.5.1 both had unique userdirs corresponding to release.
6.0.1 uses the 6.0 userdir and hence does not ask for explicit import of previous
settings.

In addition, other branding needs to take place. Desktop icon is updated OK at 6.0.1 but
the IDE title still says 6.0 . Will file separate bug for that.

krystyna,

userdir is 6.0 according to the branding checklist.
As for the IDE title, then I have no idea why it is still 6.0.

Anyway it is not the installer issue. Reassigning to ide for further evaluation.

Reassigning to "core" for evaluation.

As I can see in the mentioned wiki document following line
 Default user dir | ide/launcher/netbeans.conf | no change since 6.0: .netbeans/6.0

->closing as invalid

There is no need to import anything wen the IDE reuse the old userdir.
