Using MDI mode, I've set the output window to be attached to the top and be dominate. after reopening the project, the output window does not appear until needed (this may be a "feature"). when it appears (e.g. after compilation) it is not the dominate window.
I've noticed a similar problem in the 3.3 beta 1. In a clean installation, set for MDI, on the Editing workspace the output window is stretching right across the bottom which makes the Explorer window rather small and crowded. If I detach the Output window from the MDI frame, and re-attach it to the Bottom of the frame, it stays to the right of the Explorer & Properties windows (which was how I always used to have it with 3.2.1 and earlier, I think that was the default behaviour in that version), which is much better. However, if I exit and reopen NetBeans, it returns to filling the full width of the frame. The same happens if I've used Make Dominant on the Explorer window (incidentally, I didn't notice that option at first - why isn't it on the menu when you right-click on a window's title bar?); if I exit an restart Netbeans, the Output window is dominant again.
This bug was misfiled on the experimental workspaceswitcher module. Reassigning to core.
this bug has been fixed. I've checked it in 3.4dev build.
