Hi javydreamercsw What's your netbeans version? I tried it in netbeans v6.1 rc2. It's OK. Regards Wind
I'm on 6.1 final...
It works fine for me. Are you trying to install manually downloaded NBM file? In such case I don't understand why the IDE tries to connect to some server. Are you able to reproduce it?
Yes, it is a manual download. I wonder the same thing...
Jirko, can you please evaluate this? I really don't get what's going on here... :-( Thanks for your comment!
This is Plugins Manager related issue.
On my Win XP machine there is no problem to install this plugin. Could you please provide steps to reproduce and messages.log. Is it always reproducible? Thanks.
At least need to improved message of wrong state to don't blame inet connection in such cases. Steps for reproduction this problem would be worth. Thanks
The factor might be that I'm on windows Vista. Basically this are the steps: 1. Download the plug-in http://plugins.netbeans.org/PluginPortal/faces/PluginDetailPage.jsp?pluginid=4209 2. Go to plugins>downloaded and add the downloaded plugin. 3. Install There's where the error pops out.
Same thing just happened with this plugin: http://plugins.netbeans.org/PluginPortal/faces/PluginDetailPage.jsp?pluginid=676
Just happened with: http://plugins.netbeans.org/PluginPortal/faces/PluginDetailPage.jsp?pluginid=9296
I have had precisely the same problem manually installing downloaded plugins on Vista on NB 6.1 RC 1, RC 2 and Final. In fact, I am now having this problem installing plugins from the Plugin Center. I cannot install any of the JSF plugins because of this error. I have tried manually downloading the .nbm files and installing them from my local file system, but this still produces the same error.
Happened again with: http://plugins.netbeans.org/PluginPortal/faces/PluginDetailPage.jsp?pluginid=78
This issue causes that my plugin will not be validated on Plugins validation process. Any stack trace that we can evaluate?
It should be fixed soon and make possible a fix for 6.1. It makes impossible for some users install plugins from Plugin Portal. It is a P1 because 'doesn't work and no workarround exists'.
works for me on Windows XP. Works on Ubuntu. hmichel, what is your OS?
We cannot reproduce this problem. We tried WinXP, Ubuntu and Vista Windows. On Vista both as standard user and as user with administrator permission. On last build of NB6.5 and on NB6.1 FCS as well. All version work for us. Closed as worksforme and decreased the priority back to P3. hmichel, javydreamercsw, could you describe your setup of installation? From zip or from installer? Or custom build? Where is placed NetBeans installation? C:\Program Files or C:\Users or somewhere else? Where is the userdir? We cannot find&fix a problem until we are not able to reproduce it on any configuration. Thanks
Windows Vista, default installation. It hasn't happened to me since 6.1 release and/or 6.5 m1.
javydreamercsw, does it mean that it happened once and later you were able to install the plugins successfully? Or you were able to reproduce it subsequently with 6.1/6.5M1 but you are not able to reproduce it now with latest builds
javydreamercsw can you test again for the plugins you can't install sometime ago? For example, my plugin http://plugins.netbeans.org/PluginPortal/faces/PluginDetailPage.jsp?pluginid=78 BTW, I didn't had face this problem, just see some plugin users get it. Regards.
Hi, it should be fixed, since it makes some plugins non installable for some users. Any chances to make more details available? Regards
