Description: When I right click a Netbeans Platform Module Suite and I select Properties I enter the "Project Properties" dialog of that Module Suite. Using Netbeans 6.5 with all the latest updates then does not allow me to see what modules or cluster are selected because the checkboxes are not shown or rendered. I can still select things but I can no feedback on what I selected other than a notification if there is some dependency not satisfied. This is reproducible on 3 different system running openSUSE 11.1 (32 and 64 bit) using several window managers (KDE, Gnome, IceWM) with both the version from the repositories as well as the binary installation. It might be that it also does not work on different flavors of GNU/Linux, like Ubuntu, but I have not tested it. Steps to reproduce: - Install Netbeans 6.5 in openSUSE 11.1 - Install all updates - Start a new Module Suite Project - Try to change the Project Properties, see that it looks like this: http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/2356/netbeans65projectproper.png
Hi. Are you working on latest JDK1.6? Since JDK1.6u12 there has been a problem with rendering cells in TTV. Check issue http://www.netbeans.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=157300 As a workaround until a patch this is delivered, decrease JDK to JDK1.6u11 or run JDK1.5. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 157300 ***
Indeed I was running JDK1.6u12. Downgrading the JDK to JDK1.6u11 did resolve the issue, thanks! I did not realize there was a duplicate bug around because the bug description is quite different, so I did not stumble upon it when I was searching using keywords like: project properties, checkboxes, modules, plugins, etc. However as it turns out the underlying reason is the same so I hope people will be able to find a solution more quickly now in the catacombs of their favorite search engine.
