Beta 3 build #200111020735 of NetBeans 3.3 on Windows 2000 with JDK 1.3.1 Description: ============ I don't know what's going on but I think this was faster. Refresh commands on folders are maybe 4 times slower than if issued manually on the commad line. Could you please take a look at this performace problem ? Steps to reproduce: =================== 1. Mount PVCS filesystem with more complex directory structure. 2. Select some folder with at least 6 files and invoke "PVCS|Refresh" on it. 3. Execution time of such a command was about 6 seconds. 4. Using the same execution string it was finished in 500 ms on the command line
I have never encountered so slow performance neither on Solaris, neither on Win NT. No idea what can cause it on your Win2000 machine. Thus resolving as worksforme.
Hm, what can I do about it ? I have seen it on my own eyes. I should rather file a bug like "My machine is terribly slow." to IT ops. :-)
I've seen this mail on info-cvs@gnu.org. There is probably something wired in Windows 2000 (please note, that this is not related to NetBeans, but to cvs.exe client): From: "Fred W." <fwestphal@tomtec.com> Subject: Problem with CVS on Win2000 client To: info-cvs@gnu.org Newsgroups: gnu.cvs.help I am running CVS client on NT4.0 and Win2000 clients. The ones on NT4 work fine. Running CVS COMMIT on win2000 has a 5 second delay after committing newly "added" files for EACH file. Once committed to the repository we do not notice any delays for updating existing files. ANy suggestion or comments are appreciated. - Fred
Resolved for 3.4.x or earlier, no new info since then -> closing.
