Last step of NetBeans installation.

Product Version: NetBeans IDE 7.0.1 Dev (Build 201106122100)
Java: 1.6.0_26; Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 20.1-b02
System: Linux version 2.6.35-22-generic running on i386; UTF-8; cs_CZ (nb)
Userdir: /home/cesilko/.netbeans/7.0.1dev

Description:
============
Typical NetBeans installation ends with a question if user agrees to providing anonymous usage data but his/her answer is not stored or forgotten on purpose, because the same thing is asked during the second start of NetBeans IDE. This should not be necessary.

Steps to reproduce:
===================
1. Use installer to install the latest development build of NetBeans 7.0.1/7.1.
2. On the last page of the installer uncheck the option "Contribute to the NetBeans project by providing anonymous usage data" and click "Finish".
3. Launch NetBeans, create sample Java application and exit the IDE.
4. Launch NetBeans once again to see that IDE asks you again for your permission to provide your usage statistics.

Same question repeated during start of second IDE session.

Jirko, this is intentional behavior. The question dialog in the IDE is a kind reminder if the user really does not want to help and participate in the stats gathering.
Comment 3 Jiri Kovalsky 2011-06-15 08:36:59 UTC
Hm, I for one consider it annoying rather than a kind reminder. Anyway, verifying...
