There should be keyboard shortcuts for selecting specific tabs - Ctrl+1 through Ctrl+8 - like in Chrome and Sublime Text.
Reporter, do you mean shortcuts for selecting specific opened documents or shortcuts for switching between source/design/history sub-tabs in any editor window?
I mean shortcuts for selecting specific open tabs. For example, if you have 3 tabs open, hitting Ctrl + 1 would make the 1st one active, Ctrl + 2 would activate the 2nd and Ctrl + 3 - the 3rd. You can see a working implementation in Google Chrome, as well as in Sublime Text.
Ok, thanks for the clarification. But I'm afraid there are not many free keyboard shortcuts left. Ctrl+1,2,3 is reserved for Projects, Files and Favorites windows...
Hm, that's too bad. Could still be done using another modifier key, though.

There is no need to have this enabled by default, you can just give user the possibility. Since different users have different opinions on the best shortcuts assignment anyway... I for one will definitely use Alt + 1..9 for this.
