User should be able to specify a way how new XML
file created from template is opened. I don't use
treeview for editing XML files, but when I create
XML from template I got treeview, so I have to
close treeview and open editor. There could be
setting to define default way of editing XML file.

It is already possible:

Options | Editing | XML | General Settings [Expert] -- Default XML Action.
