We are using Source Safe for a while on a project.
I could
integrate it into NetBeans. If I check out a file
form the IDE
sometimes (about 50-60% probability) I cannot save
my changes, due to an invalid [null] lock on the file.

I'm not sure who is responsible to remove the lock
from a file. It could be either the VCS or the
editor or the filesystem API itself.

I haven't able to find other workaround to save that file than
restarting the IDE.

Well known problem with released lock.
