Description sitongia 2004-02-06 23:37:25 UTC
I used Options to add an new external browser. I first
tried Konqueror, but the embedded browser still
comes up. How do I get the NB 3.5 behavior of
opening an external browser window external to NB?

When I set the command for the external browser to a
bogus command that doesn't exist, I still get the
embedded browser.

The embedded browser doesn't behave as I would
expect. Many of my actions, which go to new pages
in an external browser, do nothing in the embedded
browser.

Well, from the description it seems to me that you added the browser,
but forgot to set IDE to use it in:

Options -> IDE Configuration -> System -> System settings -> Web Browser.

Let me know if this was the case. Btw, which build of the IDE do you use?

So, did it help? Or did I misunderstand your problem?
Comment 3 sitongia 2004-02-10 16:20:14 UTC
I now know I shouldn't have been simply replying to the email that bugzilla
sends. Here's what I had said:

I am using the NB 3.6 beta just released. It is build 200402042050.

The system setting is set to the external browser (Konqueror in this
example).
I hadn't looked at it in the System Settings before, but had selected
Konqueror in the Setup Wizard. When I just looked in System Settings, the
Browser was set to Konqueror as it should be.

However, I just tried again, and now Konqueror comes up. Perhaps by
simply
opening up System Settings, something changed?

Seems like another problem with setup wizard - there are problems with
refreshing the lists of browsers.

Forgot to unassign myself from the issue.

This is possibly duplicate of issue 31762, but I'm not sure as I did
not try to reproduce this problem.
Comment 7 Jiri Rechtacek 2004-04-02 08:21:54 UTC
Seems as duplicate of issue 34405.
