Description Jan Kovar 2000-07-05 13:07:26 UTC
1. Select any node
2. Using rightclick on mouse select "New..."
3. Choose any component. For example "Class"
4. The "New From Template New Object Name" window appears
The default value (<default>) is reappearing every time the Name field is going
to be empty. This is not correct. It should appear only at first time and should
not appear again automatically when field is empty. (i.e. it should remain
empty).
Comment 1 Jaroslav Tulach 2000-07-05 14:02:59 UTC
I'm not affraid to say that this feature is "As Designed". Even the <default>
value appears each time you clear the box, it is selected so if you time any
character, the value disappears.

Second comment is that this is exactly the same behaviour as used to be in New
From Template and nobody found it confusing.
Comment 2 Jan Kovar 2000-07-05 14:45:59 UTC
1.Thats true, that if you press any character the value dissapear, however if
you then delete that character, the <default> is back.
2.That is not true, the File->New do not work in that way. There the <default
name> is used and its only the initial value (it never gets back when you make
that field empty...). I think this is way how it should work.
Comment 3 David Strupl 2000-07-05 15:49:59 UTC
I agree with Yarda - I tried it and find the behaviour satisfactory. It was
like this in New From Template and there may be discussion if for File --> New
it should behave like this or not. I didn't find this particular one confusing.
