Description cbulcu 2005-12-28 11:02:30 UTC
[ BUILD # : 200512262030 ]
[ JDK VERSION : 1.5.0_06 ]

on a JFrame place a few components. Right click on a component, choose Properties. It shows ok. Now do it again on the same component. Properties dialog shows with wrong size. You have to right click another component to have the dialog properly sized. But the second time you open the Properties dialog on the same component you get the issue.
Comment 1 Jan Chalupa 2006-01-01 11:17:57 UTC
I cannot reproduce the problem with custom build of the release50 branch (as of
060101) and JDK 1.5.0_05 on Win XP. The Properties dialog always comes up with
the correct default size, no matter how many times I invoke for the same component.

Please try to reproduce with a clean userdir and (if possible) provide detailed
steps (e.g. the frame layout, types of components being used, etc.). Thanks.
Comment 2 cbulcu 2006-01-03 15:48:22 UTC
I was able to reproduce the problem with dev build 200501012030 and jkd
1.5.0_06. I used clean user dir.

I'll attach a flash demo to see the real thing.
Comment 3 cbulcu 2006-01-03 15:50:09 UTC
of course it's build 200601012030.

Thanks. I'm able to reproduce now.

Stan, please look at it.

Tomas, Jan, anything like this you've seen before?
Comment 6 Tomas Stupka 2006-01-05 11:03:34 UTC
i've seen this before.

seems to be the same as in #70938 .
Comment 7 Stanislav Aubrecht 2006-01-05 14:41:51 UTC
works for me in build 060105, jdk 1.5, win xp
Comment 8 cbulcu 2006-01-05 18:30:46 UTC
build 060105 ?!? I can't even see it on download page. Have you built it on your
own?

Comment 9 cbulcu 2006-01-06 13:39:58 UTC
I've just downloaded build 200601052030 and the same issue is present
but I have had to keep show and close the properties dialog. Eventually it has
shown up as described. I've restarted NB and the issue has shown up on first try.
See the second flash demo.

Comment 11 Stanislav Aubrecht 2006-01-06 14:22:20 UTC
it's very likely a jdk issue as i wasn't able to reproduce in jdk 1.5.0_02. but
the problem is reproducible in jdk 1.5.0_06

Still reproducible inside current trunk. Alarming number of duplicates => P2.

Reopen. Experienced for windows, linux...

Steps:
1. Create new GUI Form in the project.
2. Add some component (eg JTextField) into it and invoke "Properties" popup menu action.

The upcoming "Properties" dialog is too small.

Do we really have to wait 6.0 as indicated in "target milestone"? Well, unless 6.0 will come out in a few months......

FWIW I've learned to use the embedded properties panel in the 5.5 IDE so waiting until 6.0 seems reasonable to me.
