Hi Falko, one4you I am assuming that this means that if I want to copy a2:a49 and h4: h98, I should be able to do that and then paste it somewhere else in the spreadsheet into adjacent columns. For example b2:c96 in the above case (2 columns by 95 rows) I am trying to request such a feature and I hope this request means exactly that. Hi, no; it means: if I select A1:F1 and A3:F3 and copy them and place the cell marker (focus, active cell) at A7 and "copy", A1:F1 is pasted into A7:F7 and A3:F3 is pasted into A9:F9. Selecting the reference cell in the original selection which is the starting cell when pasting into the current active cell (ref. cell is top left in my example) or pasting "merged" like you seem to have described (pasting into A7:F7 and A8:F8 in my example) may be extra options. Of course you can't. There is no way how to define how and where to paste them! Even our competitors knows this and do not offer this feature either. closed keeping the relative position? yes. No, this is not possible because the target could be smaller, different what-so-ever. Again: There IS a good reason why noone(!) has this feature. closed copying multiple "not-all-together" selected cells is nothing more than copying a block of cells big enough to contain all the "single" cells with some cells marked as not-to-be-copied really. What is this good reason? *** Issue 64659 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. *** *** Issue 53901 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. *** *** Issue 44033 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. *** *** Issue 73153 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. *** *** Issue 21924 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. *** there are workarounds in copetitor program http://j-walk.com/ss/Excel/tips/tip36.htm and I for example need sometimes to extract some data with Find All and then copy to text file -- so this feature (or similar workaround) would be really usefull WHY is it closed? this problem can be made less missleading, if the "Copy" icon would not become inactive, but when user press "Copy" button (or Ctrl+C) -- warning dialog would appear, explaining, that "Copy action on multiple selections can't be used". (this behavior is made in excel) This has been fixed (partially) with Issue 25855 |
