Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 100475
Incorrect right text selection
Last modified: 2009-03-24 14:14:28 UTC
When I select text using Ctrl-Right arrow the behaviour is bizarre. The text selected is the next word "and" the next white space. If I select text using Ctrl-Left arrow, the behaviour seems OK. For example: I have two sentences in two paragraphs: Create a new document Create a second new document 1. Put the cursor just before the "new" word "n" character (first paragraph) 2. Hit Ctrl-Right Arrow keys 3. The selected text is "new " (IMHO, must be "new") 4. Hit Ctrl-Right Arrow another time 5. The selected text is "new document " and the cursor is just before "Create" in the second paragraph 6. Put the cursor just after "w" in the first paragraph 7. Hit Ctrl-Left arrow 8. The selected text is "new" (as expected...) Best regards, Francesc Rosés
This is a normal behavior. Compare with Word, Wordpad, Notepad.

Hello, I don't agree. When you do the second Ctrl-Shift, the cursor is positioned before the first word of second paragraph. In Word is positioned just at the end of first paragraph. In OpenOffice the selection expands to the end of screen line and the cursor is positioned just before the first word in the second paragraph. Best regards, Francesc Rosés
