Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 103943
Typographic Quotes ( ’ instead of ' ) and Capital Letter at the beginning of a sentence
Last modified: 2009-08-02 16:17:41 UTC
(in french: http://user.services.openoffice.org/fr/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=15205) When you check [] Replace for "Simple Quotes" in Tools > AutoCorrection > typographic quotes (it means ’ instead of ' ) (in French : [] Remplacer dans "Guillements simples" dans Outils > AutoCorrection > Guillements typographiques) Type : « Bonjour. aujourd'hui est lundi. demain est mardi » Normally, you should have : « Bonjour. Aujourd’hui est lundi. Demain est mardi » But because of the « ’ » in the word « Aujourd'hui » which is beginning a new sentence, you have : « Bonjour. aujourd’hui est lundi. Demain est mardi » As you can see, the first word of the sentence did not take a capital letter at the beginning.
