Description jeanbaptisteb 2009-11-19 15:08:21 UTC
Currently, replacing a style by another one can be done only via the search and
replace function.

An interesting feature would be to allow the selection of styles via the Styles
and Formatting window - for instance, by adding an option "Selecting this style"
in the contextual menu, when right clicking on a style name.

It would greatly ease the replacement of styles, particularly in documents
containing an important number of styles.

A comment on issue 107901 says that such a feature would not be often used.

At Revues.org, where i work, we use paragraph styles to generate structured HTML
pages from documents prepared in word-processor (see
http://www.lodel.org/index666.html for a more detailed information about the
software we use, if my explanations are unclear).

Preparing a document involves a lot of searching and replacing of styles: the
lack of a fast and ergonomic way to F&R styles prevents the 200 scholarly
journals published on Revues.org from using Open Office.

We would enjoy to use Open Office instead of Microsoft Word (in which such a
feature is available), but currently it would be an important loss of
productivity for us.
