Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 110439
Up and Down Buttons Fail on Text Animation Numeric Field
Last modified: 2017-05-20 10:45:00 UTC
Text Animation When the Group Text option “By 1st level paragraphs” is selected, the up and down buttons of the numeric field appear to fail: - The up button only works if the very top edge is clicked. - The down button does not appear to work. With "By 1st level paragraphs" selected, the numeric field also becomes: - Obscured (XP, Vista). - Enabled, although the check-box is empty (XP, Vista, Win7 64). The problems followed on 3 PC platforms, and in the following OOo and OS configurations: 3.1.1, OOO310m19 (Build:9420) & WinXP 3.2.0, OOO320m12 (Build:9483) & Win7 64 dev 3.3.0, DEV300m75 (Build:9488) & Vista The request on Issue 110310 describes a presentation need that could possibly be met by using the affected numeric field. While it's possible to manually input a value as a workaround, the user has to click the left-most area of the field to do so, or find the very top edge of the up button to increment the value. XP and Vista users are at a disadvantage because the field gets obscured, giving the appearance that it's disabled or unusable- even when “Automatically after” is checked. Test Steps: 1. Launch Impress. 2. Add a text object, and enter some text. 3. Select the text box (Ctrl-A). 4. Click Custom Animation under Tasks. 5. Click Add... 6. Under Special, choose Fade In and click OK. 7. Under Effect Appear, click the "..." box next to the Property drop-down. 8. Click the Text Animation tab. 9. Click the Group Text drop-down and select "By 1st level paragraph". Note the result and try to increment the numeric value up and down.

Correction to Step 7: "Effect Appear" should read "Effect Fade In."
Reproducible. Reassigned.
After check "Automatically after", use "Tab" key to enter in the field. Here you can input some numeric value with keyboard. This is a workaround and it will be fine to fix it.
