Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 113657
Scrolling redraw problems on Mac OS X 10.6
Last modified: 2013-01-29 21:46:48 UTC
I frequently encounter screen redraw problems when scrolling as in the attached screenshot. I can't seem to find any action that triggers the problems--sometimes it happens immediately, sometimes it takes a few minutes to appear. Sometimes Reloading the document fixes the problem, sometimes it doesn't. Apologies for the blurring in the screenshot; I don't think it obscures the error.

Same issue here. Any table or spreadsheet, but only on OOo Calc, since upgarding to Snow Leopard. Makes OOo Calc almost unbearable to use, happens when scrolling, zooming or moving the cursor outside the visible part of the table (thus scrolling). More noticeable when scrolling with touchpad, than with mouse. Does not seem to depend on any specific feature; an unstyled almost empty table without any specific formatting triggers the bug.
Update: seems when I avoid using certain fonts. Arial, Arial Narrow, Arial Black, MS Sans Serif: corruption happens Helvetica, Apple Chancery, Lucida: No corruption Maybe a Truetype font issue?
I can tentatively confirm this; I used a document that frequently exhibits the problem until the problem occurred, and then switched the document to Helvetica. That didn't solve the problem immediately, but after saving and re-opening the document, I haven't experienced redraw problems.
