While opening attached document in AOO, pages display wrong, with much bogus spacing, and the page count is also wrong.

Effect is Reproducible with "AOO 4.0.1 – German UI / German locale [Rev. 1524958 2013-09-20 11:40:29]" on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)", “historic” 4.0 User Profile used for all predecessor versions.

I do not know whether AOO supports exactly that document type. Interesting that here AOO does not fail to open the document, see "Bug 124266 - Open MS WORD 2007/2010 XML .docx fails, opens Filter Selection Dialog"

Currently WIN7 only known OS where problem reproduced

Please always contribute information concerning your OS (Version, Language, Localization), AOO Language, Localization

If you think page count problem is unrelated to space problem (to what I reduced this report) please submit a new separate report.

I would very much like to help you with detailing the issue, but I'm no expert in this area. My skills were only enough to confirm that samples are not damaged, internally (XML structure) or externally (ZIP container).
The samples came from a third party. (This is all part of public government auction documentation, no personal data there in.)
I'll fill the missing data as much as I could, though, sorry for that.

For the record, MS Office XP with MS compatibility pack open the samples more or less adequate.

The issue was also observed on Windows 2000 and Windows 7 32-bit.
All of that on ru_RU office, on Russian system locale.

Opens up definitely better with AOO 4.2.0-dev on Windows.

Were you able to test?

This seems to be fixed in trunk/AOO42X now, but not in AOO41X (4.1.14).
So if we can localize the fix, we may be able to backport it to a release version...
