Description gemal 2003-04-13 15:51:16 UTC
if you start Writer and the then install some fonts the fonts aren't available
in Writer before you shut down Writer and start it again. This is not true for
other word processors.

Henrik, thank you for using and supporting OOo.

Does this problem still exist in 1.1 Beta 2?
Comment 2 gemal 2003-07-03 15:57:22 UTC
yes. problem is still there in 644m11

to reproduce:
start writer
install font from windows control panel
try to select newly installed font from within writer
it's not there

if you do the same thing in Word, the font is there the minut you
install it.

I think it is normal behaviour. not a defect

You normally need to close the application which will using that
application/font.

In Microsoft Office it works! It's normal behaviour on all Windows
programs not to restart.
Tested with MS Office and Paint Shop Pro at you dont need to restart
these. The fonts are just suddenly there
Comment 7 jack.warchold 2003-09-25 15:39:22 UTC
utomo i think he ist right, but this will be more a feature than a
bug.
i commit this with OOo1.1RC5 and reassign it to bh

changed issuetype to enhancement
changed prio to P4
changed version to OOo1.1RC4

Comment 9 philipp.lohmann 2004-02-26 08:21:19 UTC
pl->ssa: your code, AFAIK we have a VCL message for that case (although we don't
feed it on Unix either).
