Description sgb 2003-07-13 05:21:43 UTC
MS Excel charts where the label column is not the first seem to be imported
rather badly into OO. As a case in point, please see the spreadsheet that I'm
going to attach as soon as I've submitted this issue (it's also available
through the associated URL).

The offending charts are on sheet 3, where the first chart only has one line
shown when two should be shown. The second chart is just completely black, and
seems to be including the column labels as data. They look quite different in
Excel...

Problem still present in 1.1RC2, so updated the version field.

Actually, according to instructions i read posted on another bug, the
version field is just for the version in which the problem was first
detected. So, it should really be set back to its previous value. :-)

I can Reproduce the problem on
OpenOffice 1.1 RC4(default Install, US), Win XP Pro Sp1.
(And MS Office XP Sp2).
It is real problem

On sheet 3, the second graph is black only
Comment 7 oc 2003-09-18 15:41:14 UTC
The main problem is that Excel can handle a much more complex dataarea
as OOo (e.g. it is possible that every series has its own title and
the order of the series and axis is random.) Such a chart could not be
imported correctly in OOo.
Now the good point: this behaviour will be changed with the new
chartengine, which is currently in build. For more information see:

Issue 4040 has the same reason, so I set this one as duplicate
