Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 21447
bad font defaults for Hebrew/CTL on Mac
Last modified: 2008-05-18 00:03:44 UTC
the default font for Hebrew CTL text in OOo is Tahoma. However, on MacOSX, by default the version of tahoma installed does not contain Hebrew glyphs. The result: All Hebrew text by default is squers, until the user changes the font to something else.
Accepting, am investigating Hebrew support in 1.1 on OS X.

Created attachment 12427 [details] cd officecfg, patch -p0 < /path/to/patchfile
The attached patch solves this as long as you: 1) Have Hebrew set as your locale in the International pane of System Preferences 2) Are using the patch from Issue 23926 3) Have Tools->Options->Language Settings->Languages->Locale Setting == Hebrew 4) Have Tools->Options->Language Settings->Languages->CTL == Hebrew Please approve for commit to 111fix2
Hi Dan, Since all of these changes are in the Hebrew section of VCL.xcu this is fine. Approved. Kevin
