Description pbea 2003-10-30 20:26:31 UTC
Impress Version 1.1 - reproducible

I imported four graphics into a presentation and saved the file in the native
file format (.sxi). The file was taken to another machine. When the file was
loaded the graphics were not included. In their place was a rectangle with a
small button at the top left corner.

My workaround is to have the graphics (.png and .jpg) travel with file and rest
in the same directory as the presentation. They are loaded at startup.

This may be normal but it is a heck of an inconvenience.

You're doing a good job. Keep up the good work.

Please Attach the documents which make this problem, so we can test
it/faster to confirm.
(Without the documents, we cannot confirm the problem easily/need more
time)
Don't forget to cut other part of the documents, so the file size is
small, but we still able to see the problem.

Comment 6 pbea 2003-11-03 04:03:47 UTC
The problem is showing with the graphics in the same directory. They
are no loading.

Possible problem identification - error message showing now - problem
with input/output - ~/openoffice.org.1-1-4(?)/basic/ dialogs.xlc and
dialogs.xli.

Don't know if this is problem but I have tried two re-installs and
these are now showing up.

OpenOffice 1.1 (default Install, US), Win XP Pro Sp1.
(And MS Office XP Sp2).
It is real problem

in slide 1 and slide 3, the image is missing.

Hi Utomo

how could you reproduce the bug? Do you see that the graphics are gone
when you load the file or you can insert 'new' graphics which
disappears after saving?
Comment 10 christian.guenther 2003-11-19 11:07:49 UTC
This sounds like a already known bug.
Graphics are disapearing when the /tmp directory is full while saving
the file.
We are already working on this bug and it will be fixed in OOo1.1.1
Comment 11 utomo99 2003-11-20 02:43:26 UTC
Utomo > CGU:
The graphics dissaperaring when I load the file.

Is this also possible happens in other component (framework Issue) or
just impress problem ?
Comment 12 christian.guenther 2003-11-24 10:49:37 UTC
I think it's the 'Temp-bug'.
That means that the graphics are already gone while saving and not
while loading. If you insert the attached graphics and save the file
again everything should ok after loading the file again.
You are right that this is a framework bug. There is already an
internal bug where the developers are already working on.

Comment 14 pavel 2004-01-09 21:36:57 UTC
The attached document does not contain any pictures thus the problem is surely
caused by save operation. Could you reproduce the bug with 1.1.1a?

@cgu: Is this already fixed? Which branch? Who is working on it, please reassign
it to the developer.
Comment 15 pavel 2004-01-09 21:57:26 UTC
@cgu: I'm walking over issues targeted to 1.1.1 and found

Embedded Graphics Disappear Randomly in slides (also in Writer)
http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=22235

Impress drops imags when many/large images have been inserted
http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=10101

Are all those duplicates of this issue? Can you mark them as such?
Comment 16 christian.guenther 2004-01-21 08:58:33 UTC
There are two different bugs with disappearing graphics.
The first bug occures when the file is password protected. I take issue 22235 as
'main issue' and set the other duplicate to the issue 22235. This bug will be
fixed in OOo1.1.1.
The second bug occures when the diskspace is low while saving the file. I take
issue 24519 as 'main issue' for this behaviour and set the other bugs duplicate
to the issue 24519. This will be fixed in OOo2.0.

I choose this two bugs because the description is the best for the developer.
Sometimes it's a little bit difficult to dedicate other bugs to one of this two
bugs because of missing information. Therefore it could be that a bug is
dedicated to the wrong issue or is still not dedicated.

I will have a look again on all missing graphics bugs soon, dedicate them to the
correct issue and change the target if required.
Comment 17 christian.guenther 2004-01-29 15:12:33 UTC
I set this issue to duplicate to issue 22235

*** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 22235 ***
Comment 18 christian.guenther 2004-01-29 15:14:02 UTC
This issue is duplicate to issue 22235
Issue 22235 is fixed and integrated in OOo 1.1.1
I close this issue.
Please reopen it if the bug still occures in OOo1.1.1.
