Description gpolitis 2003-11-12 03:24:18 UTC
On both Windows 2000 and Linux versions, a change to the paragraph style via
"Edit Paragraph Style" does not appear in the undo/redo list and cannot be
undone. Futhermore, if the "Auto Update" flag is set in the paragraph style,
changes to paragraph style via Format->Paragraph... appear in the undo/redo
list, but the undo operation does not reverse the change.

please only submit one issue for one issue number.
for paragraph undo problem.
please explain step by step how to reproduce the problem.
better if you attach the file.

An example for Edit Paragraph Style problem:

1. Create new text document.
2. Type: Hello, world!
3. Right click->Edit Paragraph Style->Indents & Spacing.
4. Enter 1cm for "Before text" and click OK.

Indentation of line of text increases to 1cm, but there is no way to
undo this change. Undo list only includes entry of text.

I'll make a separate issue for the other problem. (I put them
together because I suspected they were related.)

Hi gpolitis,

thanks for using and supporting OpenOffice...

I followed your steps using Solaris and OOo1.1.0 and using Red Hat
Linux release 9 (Shrike) and OOo1.1.0.

I was able to undo my changes like indents but also bolding the text...

If you longclick the Undo-Icon in the Function Bar you see the
available steps to undo.
These changes (bolding, indents,...) appear as "Apply attributes"...
set to WORKSFORME...

With Format->Paragraph, attribute changes enter the undo list as
you've described. However, if you edit the paragraph style so that
other paragraphs with the same style can also be updated, the
changes do not enter the undo list.
I've tried this both on Windows 2000 and also on a Linux
installation, and it behaves the same way on both.

Are you sure?

Does not work for me. If I do exactly as he describes, OOo only offers to
undo "insert text". This I can reproduce in both OOo and StarOffice.

I:

a) Enter "HELLO"
b) Right-click and select edit paragraph style
c) Change the indent
d) OK

and then there is no apply attributes in the undo-history... only INSERT TEXT.

If i bold the text manually, apply attributes is shown. If I then edit
paragraph style and select UNCIAL, then this operation is not added to the undo-
list.
