Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 27337
backgrounds are not full expanded when editing a "oversized" formula
Last modified: 2004-05-07 11:35:48 UTC
I have attached a spreadsheet and a screenshot. - Please open the attached spreadsheet. - double-click the green cell: As you can see the is enlarged to the next cell. That's OK, because its content is too long for the cell-width. But If you look exactly at the right side of the green area, you can see that there is a white-line at the end of the green area. If you remove the "=", so that it is not handled as formula anymore, the green areas has crorrect width. I also have attached a scaled screenshot to show the (minor) problem.

A typing error: "As you can see the is enlarged" should be "As you can see the _cell_ is enlarged"
Hi Norbert, sorry, but I close this as wontfix because the effort to fix this does in no case match the outcome. Frank

(I forgot to mention that just removing the "=" does not remove the white line. You also have to confirm and re-doubleclick the cell, in order to remove the white pixels.) This means that the problem only happens if the expanding of the background is done, while the content of the cell is a formula (with "=").
Mistake in last comment: The sentence ... "This means that the problem only happens if the expanding of the background is done, while the content of the cell is a formula (with "=")." ... of my last comment seems not to be correct: The problem seems to be more strange: If you delete a cell's formula and confirm and the re-enter anything without "=", the white line also appears! That means that Calc "remembers" if the cell has once been a formula!!!
I meaned "and then re-enter" instead of "and the re-enter".
This problem does not happen if the cell has centered-format applied!
Sorry, a mistake in my last comment: This problem does not happen if the cell has right-alignment applied!
