HTML editor as XML editor too
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:35:12 UTC
Improve HTML editor so can be used for XML editor, including the tree view. It can be useful to repair/edit the xml when we got problems with documents/corrupts, ETC. we can use this functions
MRU->ES: please comment and then re-assign to BH.
Don't fixed our goal to work as an XML editor. The HTML editor is already quite only a viewer...
Yes, it would be greate to have a tool to edit xcu files.
another use of this could also be to be able to edit docbook. Having a parallel structure viewer frame/window (I guess you named this "tree view"). Otherwise, we might see ourselves forced to go for commercial XML Editors like "XXE" from http://www.xmlmind.com see also Issue 62093, Issue 74712, Issue 32792, Issue 33065, Issue 34944, Issue 51296, Issue 53239, Issue 30494, Issue 61977 perhaps http://open.comsultia.com/docbook2odf/ (http://docbook2odf.sourceforge.net) is a work-around for docbook import issues?
To get OOo to edit XML documents (as in DocBook), the user interface should be able to 1. switch the styles to that of DocBook XML, and allow only those styles in the document 2. it should highlight / provide visual notifications where the document does not validate.
To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on my owner to the owner "requirements".
