Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 34343
Insert formula after autocomplete causes crash
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:41:36 UTC
Trying to insert a formula while OOo Writer is suggesting an autocompletion for a word you were just typing causes a fatal crash. On my machine, this is reproducible: 1) Open up OOo Writer and create a new text document 2) Start writing out a word that is common and that OOo will recognize and try to autocomplete. (For me, for example, typing out "Wherever we go", then entering a newline and typing "Where" gives me an autocompletion for "wherever".) 3) As soon as OOo tries to autocomplete it (i.e., provides a highlighted completion and waits for you to either accept it by pressing "Enter" or continue typing), stop. Do not accept the completion or get rid of it by typing anything else. 4) Insert->Object->Formula. At this point, on my computer, the window pops up at the bottom to insert a formula definition, but immediately the cursor turns to a cursor with an hourglass and OOo stops responding. After a few seconds, the OOo Error Report window pops up and Writer dies. (For what it's worth, the document that was being edited is restored successfully after restart.)
MRU->OS: Inserting a formula object right into the Aotocomplete process makes Writer loop.
Fixed in cws os38 in sw/source/ui/shells/textsh.cxx
.
Verified in CWS os38.
Checked integration in 680m62.
