Start a bullet.  Type in some text.  Highlight all of the text and underline it.
The bullet ends up being underlined also and there is no way to remove the
underline on the bullet unless the underline for the whole line is removed.  In
order to prevent the bullet from getting an underline, I have to underline the
text except the first letter and then underline the first letter only.

This is duplicate to issue 18463. In OOo1.1.4 do this: Open Stylist, go to
"Character Styles", choose Bullets, contextmenu "modify..." tab "Font Effect".
Choose "single" in "underlining", OK. Then once again do the same and choose
"(Without)", OK. Now the style has an explicit entry "no underline" and no
longer inherites the style from the paragraph.
