Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 4573
provide a mechanism to access checksums on ny1
Last modified: 2003-12-06 14:52:32 UTC
On sf1 there is a URL to generate md5sums for the files available on the server (http://sf1.../md5). Please provide this mechanism on ny1.
reassigning to support
I've submitted this to our operations group (PCN9504).
It's been reassigned to instantiations engineering. However, apparently checksums have never been on ny1, so this may take awhile.
This is a must before we can make ny1 the master.
I'm assigning this to louis, as he and david are working on the master/slave/mirror system.
Hi, the md5sums are not for public consumption but for the sun uploader or for the collabnet worker to doublecheck the integrity of the files uploaded to the target server. Thus, it is not necessary to have md5sums on ny1; only on the sf1 server, or the servder, rather, where the files are uploaded to. In future, the protocol we understand is that Sander includes his md5sums in his emails0--he already does this. I can use the data to confirmm integrity, as I do now. Thus, the resolution: no need for md5sums on ny1; Sander can continue to post md5sums to releases@. louis
