Description nagashree 2005-04-12 04:28:43 UTC
It would be nice if the auto generated table of contents would link to the
correct page in the document when you clicked on it (like it does in MS
Word). It's not something that keeps me from using Open Office, but it's
highly annoying in large documents.

Reassigned to requirements

I came across this issue while searching for another problem (I wanted to check
if my problem was already listed).

Should this issue not be closed? Now TOC can have hyperlinks to headings, etc..

No, nagashree meant that inserting links into the toc should be the default
handling.
And btw take a look at issue 29139 considering the character style, not only for
MS import.

Well, it didn't seem like that (the word "default" was never mentioned). Yes,
that would be nice: If a user wants, he can remove the hyperlinks; but by
default it should be there in ALL levels of TOC.

And the dafault TOC font also should be user-defined (can be set using OOo
program options).

I had the dubious chance of seing many word users manipulate .doc files
generated by OO.o (meetings with someone annotating files over a videoprojector)
and the non-linked index is a neverending source of confusion and angry snaps at
whoever was a fool enough not to re-create the index in word before submitting
the document
