Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 49036
Pasting- Copied text from Adobe Reader 7.0
Last modified: 2005-07-15 15:16:03 UTC
Pasting text copied from Adobe Reader 7.0 crashes word processor every time. I duplicated the problem with various .pdf files and new and existing text documents. Note: text document saved through OpenOffice.org as a .doc. Document recovers perfectly with Adobe text sucessfully pasted; however, the recovered document is unable to be saved or saved as. Must copy document when opened and paste text into a new document.
Reassigned to ES.
I have seen that you have only version 680 in the version field above. Which version of OOo are you using? Have you used a newer version of OOo like m100/m104? Does your problem occur there, too? If not: Could you close this issue, please?
Duplicated problem with previous version 1.1.4 and most recent version 2.0 beta.
Please check again which version you are using *exactly*. Go to "Help - About OOo" and type Ctrl+s,d,t in the dialog. The text scrolls and the first info is the exact minor number. It may be then a duplicate of issue 38569...
Current version used *exactly* is m79. Downloaded m104 today and was able to reproduce problem. Similar issue to 38569 except that this instance is with .pdf; may be related.
Please attach a sample PDF document and describe step by step how you copy/paste.

Sorry for delayed response; on vacation. Specific steps for copying from Adobe to OOo Writer follows: In Adobe Reader 7.0: 1) Point mouse to text select icon on tool bar and click 2) Point mouse to beginning of text to highlight 3) Left click, hold and drag mouse to highlight block of text 4) Right click, point to "Copy to Clipboard" and click In OOo Writer: 1) Open OOo document saved as a .doc 2) Point mouse at desired location to paste Adobe text 3) Right click, point to "Paste" and click At this point Writer would crash. However, a recent incident required me to run the install file and repair my OOo, which, seems to have corrected the problem for now.
I still couldn't reproduce t. Closing for you write that the problem has been cured repairing the installation. Feel free to reopen if hapens again.
