Description pmike 2005-05-18 12:22:06 UTC
Writer incorrectly imports "symbol" field from RTF files.
After successful (no crash) open, it displays "empty rectangle" symbol (i.e.
invalid symbol).

Here is the piece of RTF code:
{\field{\*\fldinst SYMBOL 180 \\f "Symbol" \\s 12}{\fldrslt\f3\fs24}}

Msword displays correct symbol of multiplication here.

Only RTF import works incorrectly. DOCs imports normally.

I cannot reproduce the problem. I tried on Windows XP and on Solaris, but the
document looked good resp. the correct multiplication sign was displayed in OO
Writer.
Maybe the Symbol font is curropt on your Windows 2003 system?
