The attached document is in native Writer format. Please attach the document in
MS word format, so that we can reproduce what's going wrong during import
process. Feel free to reopen issue when you have done so.
Thanks for supporting us!

MRU->US: the import filter works o.k. here; means: on my Windows XP and Linux
systems the "diameter"-symbol looks o.k. But it seems, that under certain
circumstances it seems, that the character isn't displayed correctly. Please
investigate this.

Month ago I've opened issue 49448, related to similar problem. That issue was
closed as "works-for-me", but problem isn't ressolved.
I suppose OO sometimes can't handle properly special symbols. Might me font
mapper problem? When special char isn't available in given font, should OO find
closest match?
Comment 8 lohmaier 2005-07-21 22:04:53 UTC
there is no diameter sign ("⌀") in the document, but the Symbol "Æ" formatted
with a symbol font that displays this character as diameter sign.

Without the proper symbol-font you won't get the same display.

Anyway - can not produce on linux. The symbol font I have installed uses the
same character-code.

have to reassign issue.

Your Symbol font may be broken or you don't have it on the system.
As other reproter said: works fine on LInux and Windows. Symbol is mapping correctly
