Description bobharvey 2005-06-10 12:01:11 UTC
I've found an oddity with the wrapping around images. Tables are not included.

1. Create a table
2. Insert a picture, select a wrapping mode
3. Position picture to conflict with table.

Result: part of table obscured.
What I would expect: Not sure. Probably that the table would move, or perhaps
that the text within the cells would wrap. Or something.

There is a difference here too with one of the competing products.

MRU->OD: this is quite similar to issue 47692, but that one is abot objects
anchored "to frame" and "to page". Here we have the same problem caused by an
object anchored "to paragraph".

Any progress?
Comment 7 Oliver-Rainer Wittmann 2006-07-03 07:11:24 UTC
Currently no progress, because it hadn't been decided, if and how table should
wrap around anchored objects.

Decisions take a long time, don't they?
Comment 9 Oliver-Rainer Wittmann 2008-03-06 12:43:07 UTC
As for your issue 53034, No progress on this issue, mainly because of lack of
resources. No progress has
the following reasons:
- Target of this issue is OOo Later. Thus, I have got hundreds of issues on
earlier targets, on which I have to work on before.
- Issue does not seem to be serious, because since its existence no duplicate
issue has be filled and no vote on this issue has been made.

But, I can provide a workaround for the specific problem with the giving text
document:
- Open the format dialog for the picture (e.g. select the picture and then Menu
Format - Picture)
- On the Wrap dialog tab pane check the option "First paragraph"
--> Now, the applied wrapping style is only used for the anchor paragraph. The
other paragraphs and also the table will wrap around the picture as if wrapping
style "No wrap" is active.

I am sorry, that I did not had the time to work on this issue in the past.

bobharvey, please vote on
http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/showvotes.cgi?issue_id=69811
so maybe once I can vote for this issue.

(Unfortunately it seems, that i'm a guy, that votes only for issues, that are
never done, so my vote-capacity becomes never free again. (And I don't want to
take back other votes.))
