'computerhotline', please have a look at the issue submission guide.
http://qa.openoffice.org/issue_handling/pre_submission.html

Especially you might want to read the help on priorities.
http://qa.openoffice.org/scdocs/ddIssues_EnterModify.html#priority

I changed the Priority to P3.

Thanks for your support for OpenOffice.org.

I hope this is not out of place, but I voted for issue 20088 some time back, and
issues 42341, 48725 all seem related to this 50846. Mail merge with Thuderbird
address book still does not work, I use 1.4 stable and recently tried 1.9.104.
In the latter case the Thunderbird address book can be listed, including the
sub-tables in the file. This works both in writer and in the new database
application, but in neither case do the resulting tables show any data rows. It
manages to list the column headers only - no actual data is available. I
understand the plan was to make the data available at least on a read only basis.
Thanks for your attention.

On my system, I have the following: WinXP, OOo1.9.118, Thunderbird 1.0.6
(recently upgraded from 1.0.2)
I tried the following:
1. I started Base
2. Selected "Connect to an existing database"
3. Selected "Thunderbird Address Book"
4. Clicked Next
5. Tried bot Yes/no to register database (in different sessions)
6. Clicked "Finish"
7. Saved the database on my desktop for easy deletion
8. I clicked on Tables and observed that Base seemingly finds two out of three
address books I have
9. I open both addcress books and find NOTHING inside.

I have now tried this on two of my PCs at home (both running the above mentioned
configuration) and none of those two work. My Linux here at home refuses to
connect to Thunderbird at all, as the Thunderbird option doesn't even show. I
tried the same at work where I (still) run Win2K and - lo and behold... There it
actually worked!

I cannot draw any definite conclusions, but I guess one out of two: a) it
actually works on Win2K and WinXP is broken. b) Connector is unstable/fragile.

The bug is always exiting in version m122
Comment 6 on2see 2005-11-14 23:56:09 UTC
Try upgrading to Thunderbird 1.0.7, and see what happens. If it doesn't work,
let us know.
Comment 7 jacekz 2005-12-02 23:13:13 UTC
I'm now using Thunderbird 1.07 and Ooo 2.0, still on XP. The thunderbird
addressbook still appears empty when using Base or any other Ooo method to
access it. I wish someone would fix it!

The same problem is reported in #i8210#.
Comment 9 martinkozak 2006-01-27 19:32:48 UTC
Hello,

We have the same report on Windows XP Proffesional, OpenOffice.org 680m145 and
Thunderbird 1.0.7. We also noticed a lot of reports from other similar
configurations. Product Manager of 602Office based on OpenOffice.org write us
because of this problem. There are a lot of confirmations through versions and
configurations right here.

Why is this problem still unconfirmed? Thanks for quick reply.

@ computerhotline

do you use the standard path for the user profile.

I see the same thing, why I change the standard path.

@msc
May be there is a possibility to put in the path which is actually used.
I use m163

The problem seems to resolve itself if you remove any "SunBirds" or "Mozilla"
browsers on the system - or any other system that might create an extra address
book using the Moz format. Obviously, the data link cannot see the difference
between these address books and selects the wrong one (as in: the first one it
finds).

I had :
. remove and reinstall Firefox
. remove and reinstall Thunderbird

I have always the problem.
