Open the document a.doc from issue 54736. Select all and paste into an empty 
Write/Web document (i.e. created by using File => New => Html document). 
Pasting from the clipboard takes a few seconds. The formatting etc. looks 
fine. 

Select menu item "view => print layout". This takes forever. When you kill the 
process using task manager the attached dump is produced.

thanks for using and supporting OpenOffice.org...


Just for the records:
I don't get this problem on Ubuntu-Linux using m130 (from ftp.linux.cz)...
OOo shows the document in print layout after a few seconds...
The Office doesn't freeze here on my system...

But:  The table doesn't fit on a page of A4-size!!! 
         and it is not continued on the next page...

Tested this issue with 1.9.128 on Win XP, was unable to duplicate the error.

If you could tell me how to get 1.9.128, i'm happy to install this on my PC 
and try again. As far as I can see then the standard beta 2 download is still 
1.9.125.

I have just retested with OO 2.0 rc2 (1.9.8964.500, soffice.exe). It 
still "waits forever". One noticeable difference is that now 
the "importing..." progress bar is almost making it to the end.

Hello, 

Get the same error when pasting the given file a.doc from word to 
openofficeorg writer 2.0 RC2.

Have to wait "forever" on 1.6 Ghz 512 MB Ram PC (windows XP professional).

Hello again,

While searching through Issue tracker found a couple of Issues that could be 
the same:

-Issue 35143 "OOo hangs when coyp and paste content of a web page"
- Issue 35262 "Writer crashes when I paste a webpage"

This because if I paste the document provided when my Writer is default in 
print layout, Writer hangs.

Print layout or view layout are the same (in this case).
This is a Word known import problem.
