Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 5543
changing the component of an issue does not update addressee list
Last modified: 2003-12-27 10:23:17 UTC
When changing the component of an issue, this is not reflected in what I would call the addressee list of the issue. Means if you change the component from A to B, then changes in the issue do _not_ result in mails to issues@B.openoffice.org. Instead, they are still routed to issues@A.openoffice.org. My most recent example (I had some more in the past) for this is issue 5524, which was originally report for "installation", but then changed to "database access". None of the auto-generated mails for this issue uis directed to issues@dba, but only to issues@installation (plus, of course, to the owner of the bug). This makes tracking of issues relative to a component very diffifult, without using the queries on a regular basis. IMO, changing the component should result in completely exchanging the issue@* addressee, but at least in adding the issues-list of the new component.
I think this is actually an old issue. But am assigning to support@openoffice.org.
Louis, what does "old" mean? duplicate? didn't find anything. Nevertheless, it's actually there, so it's also a "current" issue :) Frank
I am resolving this issue as a duplicate of issue 2287 Updating the QA contact when changing the component an issue belongs to is addressed in the 2.0 release of SourceCast. Thank you, Kat *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 2287 ***
As mentioned on the qa dev list on March 5th I will close all resolved duplicate issues. Please see this posting for details. First step in IssueZilla is unfortunately to set them to verified.
